Terms of use

Last updated October 28, 2026.

These terms are a plain-language description of how this free tool may be used. They are not a substitute for advice from a lawyer.

The service

TradeQuote Tools is a free website that calculates job quotes from figures you enter. You can use the electrician, plumber, carpenter, and painter calculators without an account. There is no paid plan in this version.

Your figures

You are responsible for the descriptions, quantities, unit prices, discounts, and margins you enter, and for any quote you give a customer. Check the customer preview before you rely on it. The printed quote hides internal costs and profit so you can hand it over. It is still your document. Refreshing the page clears unsaved entries. A draft you save stays in that browser only. The site does not keep a copy on a server.

What the results are

Results are estimates produced from your entries. They are not a survey of market prices, not a recommended rate, and not tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. Sales tax, VAT, and other taxes are included only when you type a tax amount into expenses. The site does not promise that a quote will be accepted, that a job will be profitable, or that the pages will be indexed or ranked by a search engine.

No professional relationship

Using the site does not create a contractor, agency, or advisory relationship with the people who published it.

Acceptable use

Do not use the site to break the law or to mislead a customer about what a quote includes. The printed page is a working quote from the figures shown on it. It is not a tax invoice unless you separately meet the invoicing rules that apply to you.

Availability

The site is provided as it stands. Pages may change or be unavailable. There is no warranty of accuracy for a particular job, or of uninterrupted access.

Losses

You carry the risk of using a result, including a quote based on a wrong rate, a missing cost, or a tax you did not enter. Some places limit how far a sentence like this can go. Where that is so, it applies only as far as local law allows. This section is plain language, not a claim that it overrides consumer protections where you work.

Changes

The date on this page will be updated if these terms change. The privacy policy is separate. The contact page publishes an email address and does not include a message form.
